From July 10 to 12, 2025, the 11th Slag Powder Production and Application Technology Forum was held in Suzhou. This major industry event was hosted by the Slag Powder Application Branch of the China Building Materials Market Association and specially co-organized by Suzhou Uping Wear-Resistant Composite Materials Co., Ltd. Conceived under the theme of “Green Development, Energy Saving & Carbon Reduction, and Digital & Intelligent Empowerment,” the conference gathered over 100 industry representatives to collectively map out the green transformation of the slag powder industry.
During the technical presentation session, Chen Jiyun, Assistant Vice President of Suzhou Uping, delivered a report titled “Case Analysis of Hardfacing Technology for Vertical Roller Mills in Slag Grinding.” The presentation systematically detailed Suzhou Uping’s optimization and upgrade solutions applied to the grinding and powder-selecting systems of vertical slag mills. Utilizing independently developed processes and systems, the company successfully achieved a significant reduction in power consumption per ton of slag powder.
The report shared a successful case study of a specific project, which achieved remarkable results through the structural optimization of rollers and tables, combined with modifications to the powder-separating system: hourly output increased by 12%, and power consumption per ton of powder decreased by over 1.5 kWh/t.
These innovative technologies resonate closely with the forum’s core theme of “Green Development, Energy Saving & Carbon Reduction, and Digital & Intelligent Empowerment,” providing a viable blueprint for the industry’s green transition and upgrading.
